1 Cent    (sold for $1200.0)

1793 S-8 R3 Wreath Type with Vine & Bars Edge G5. Sharpness VF20 or better but most of the planchet is covered with moderate corrosion. A few specks of greenish verdigris can be found in recessed areas, and there are a half dozen dull rim nicks on the reverse, but the roughness is the only significant defect. Dark olive with slightly lighter chocolate and steel toning on the highpoints. The date and legends are distorted by the roughness but they can still be made out with minimum difficulty. EDS.
