1854 N-5 R4- Repunched 18 MS64. Bright original mint red fading to steel brown on the highpoints, about 75% of the original color remaining. There is a small spot of very fine carbon close under star 9 and a faint nick on the nose even with the eye. The cheek and upper half of the neck are covered with a shallow low spot and the coronet tip over LIB is softly struck. MDS, die state b late. The repunching at the 18 is weak but still visible and the double die clashmarks at the left top of the O in ONE are barely visible. CC#1 in the Grellman census.
