Reverse: Marcus Aurelius seated left on curule chair, holding globe; above, Victory holds a wreath over our stoic philosopher-emperor. Very rare. SNG Leypold 2367; Sommer-Robert pl. XXVI, 73. Even dark patination; Choice Very Fine-Extremely Fine. The extant writings of Marcus Aurelius, including the "Meditations," are easily acquired and will provide the reader with yet another dimension, besides numismatics, that little in this world is truly new.
