War galley left above waves, its prow ending in the head of a roaring lion, three hoplites stand to left on the deck, wearing crested helmets and holding round shields, a hippocamp swimming to left and a murex shell below, Phoenician letters (‘Z) in field. Rev. Phoenician legend, slion attacking a bull to left (SNG Copenhagen 13 2; Betlyon 14 var). Traces of double-striking on reverse, but a well-struck and clear obverse, about extremely fine. $1,750
