CHINA. State of Qi. Six Character Knife Money, Warring States Period (ca. 400-220 B.C.).

57.66 gms. Hartill-4.4j; Jen-unlisted; FD-350. "Qi Jian Zao Bang Chang Fa Huo" (Qi establish make state long legal money); Reverse: "Gong". The translation here is a more literal translation. A VERY RARE early knife with a six character inscription. In an excellent state of preservation. Cleaned at some point to remove verdigris deposits, but the process was done with some care leaving the inscription full and legible and most of the vibrant green patina intact. Some minor soil deposits remaining on reverse. A seldom offered ancient bronze which is very exciting to behold.
