1903 Louisiana Purchase-McKinley Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo. Rich golden toning. A Choice, painstakingly preserved example from a mintage of a mere 100 Proofs for each Louisiana Purchase design. This variety depicts the recently assassinated President William McKinley, who approved the Louisiana Purchase Exposition that was held in St. Louis in 1904. The gleaming warm yellow-gold surfaces exhibit mirror depth to the glassy fields and an appropriate degree of contrast. Sharply struck on obverse and reverse, devices cameo frosted. A rare opportunity for the Commemorative enthusiast whose collection goes beyond the usual scope to include some special strikings. Pop 1; 10 finer, 3 in 64, 4 in 65, 2 in 66, 1 in 66+ (PCGS # 87483) . Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000. Categories: Commemorative Gold Coins
