Clear legend around nimbate king standing left, long sash at waist, his left hand by his side, raising right hand over peacock right with tail in splendour, feeding it with fruits. Rev. Mahendrakumara, the god Karttikeya, nimbate, holding a spear and sprinkling incense, seated left astride the peacock Parvani, who stands on a platform with tail in splendour behind the god (BMC 250-252, pl. XV, 5; Bayana Hoard pl. XXVI, 1-13). Good very fine, lustrous. Rare in such high grade. $3,000
