1/2 Sovereign    (sold for $2408.0)

Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1886-M, Melbourne mint, KM#5, AU53 NGC. Ex. Reserve Bank of Australia. An impressive survivor of this rare date with even central friction that defines the grade and bright luster around the protected peripheral legends that enlivens the surfaces. Likely among the finest known examples, as neither NGC or PCGS have certified an example at the Choice AU or Mint State level.
