Tegea Hemidrachm, head of Athena / Kepheos, very rare, ex BCD Tegea, Peloponnesos. AR Hemidrachm (2.52 g), c. 350-330s BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Athena Alea to right. Rev. [TEΓEATAN], Warrior (Kepheos), nude but for helmet, walking right, holding dagger with his right hand and shield, with griffin ornamenting its inside, with his left; on the ground below his feet, spear. BMC 11 = Traité III 91 (same dies); SNG Cop 297 (same dies); Weber 4347 (same obverse die). Very rare. Good fine / fine. From the BCD collection and ex LHS 96 (2006), 1732.
