OTTOMAN TUNIS Abdul Hamid II (1293-1299ah / 1876-1909ce) 10 riyals 1295ah (1878ce) AU 1.93g KM 199 RRRR Fdc Before the French closed the mint in Tunis in 1308ah (1891ce), a series of 100, 50, 25, 10, and 5 riyals were struck in gold. The only gold coin in general circulation after 1281ah (1865ce), however, was the 25 riyals. The others were undoubtedly intended for presentation purposes only and are thus rarely found.
