Die Münze in dieser aussergewöhnlichen Erhaltung wurde zusammen mit den ebenfalls in dieser Auktion enthaltenen 1 & ½ Franken von 1901 als spezielles Geschenk für einen damaligen Lehrling der Münzstätte geprägt. Dazu wurden die Stempel besonders hochwertig angefertigt. 2 Francs 1901. Divo 190. HMZ 2-1202h. Rare date. Only 50’000 pieces struck. PCGS SP65. Specimen striking! Prooflike brilliant uncirculated with fine patina. Top of Switzerland-Status: Until today the best known piece in this high end quality! This coin, together with the 1 & ½ Francs dated 1901, also being part of this auction, have been specially produced for a trainee working at the Swiss mint at that time. Therefore the dies had to be finished in very high quality way.
