1 Cent    (sold for $6250.0)

1794 S-72 R2 Exact Head of 1795 PCGS graded XF40. Choice glossy light chocolate brown. There is a spot of reddish chocolate toning on the leaves right of T in CENT plus a few light contact marks. The notable marks are a couple nicks at the eye, a long curved nick on the cheek, and a pinprick in the dentils over the B in LIBERTY. Nicely struck MDS, Breen state III. The die crack at TY is light and the one through the D in UNITED is faint. A very attractive example of this popular variety, the only 1794 with the "Exact Head of 1795." Our grade is VF30. The PCGS label incorrectly identifies this as a "Head of 1794" type. Estimated Value $5,000-UP. Categories:
